How to enter a Choice Hotels corporate code
- Go to choicehotels.com (or open the Choice Hotels app) and enter your destination and dates.
- Open the Special Rate dropdown on the search form and scroll to the bottom of the list — that's where the corporate / promo code box sits.
- Paste your corporate code or ID, then click Apply. Some listings label this field Special Rate / Corporate ID or Corporate/Promo Code; it is the same box.
- Click through to the results. When the code is honored, the rate plan is shown with the company's name attached, and the code stays applied for the rest of your session.
- Compare the corporate rate against the Choice Privileges member rate before booking — corporate rates still earn Choice Privileges points and elite night credit.
Frequently asked questions
How many Choice Hotels corporate codes are actually verified?
Three: ABN (Allied Business Network) 845160, Harvard University 76514 and my Better Benefits 00194080. All three were confirmed in at least two independent listings and most recently checked in September 2026. Everything else this page covers sits in the check-first table, not the verified one — including the university codes, and including one of them that turns out to have a government source and a different owner than we had it filed under.
What happened to the Choice university codes?
When every listing behind this page was re-read on 7 October 2026, ten of the 33 check-first entries could not be found in any of them — and all ten belonged to universities, including Cornell (74680), Michigan State (226370) and UC Davis (86000). They stay in the check-first table until a second source turns up again. On 31 October 2026 one did turn up for all ten at the same time — but it is one listing, not two, so they still sit in the check-first table. One of them, 715180, is a special case: it has a government source, and that source gives it a different owner than we had. It is written up in full below.
What is a master chain code for Choice Hotels?
A chain code is the short identifier a hotel chain carries inside the global distribution systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport) that travel agents and booking platforms use to request availability. It answers whose hotels you are asking about — it is not a discount, it is not typed into a booking form by travellers, and it is not what this page lists.
Where do I enter a Choice corporate code?
On choicehotels.com or in the Choice Hotels app, enter your destination and dates, open the Special Rate dropdown and scroll to the bottom — that is where the corporate / promo code box sits. Paste the code and click Apply. When it is honored, the rate plan shows the company's name.
Other hotel corporate code lists
- Comfort Inn corporate codes — Choice's own midscale brand, checked separately.
- IHG corporate codes — 30 codes, and the two-length question.
- Hyatt corporate codes — 27 codes, and what the NC prefix means.
- Hilton corporate codes — 41 companies, 69 numbers — the two-code pattern explained.

Harvard — the Choice Hotels code
If you arrived here searching for a "choice hotels harvard code", the number is 76514, also published as 00076514 — the same ID with the leading zeros written in. It is the best-attested company code on this page: four independent listings carry it, all four attribute it to Harvard University, and it is one of only two IDs in our verified table.
- What it is: a Choice Hotels Special Rate ID tied to Harvard's negotiated agreement. It goes into the Special Rate dropdown described at the top of this page, in the same box as every other corporate code.
- What it is not: a code that works by association. It covers Harvard faculty, staff and students travelling under the university's agreement — not anyone who knows the number.
- What it saves: listings state 20%–25%, and that range is a report about specific dates rather than a property of the ID. What actually appears depends on the property and the season.
- How it is issued: Harvard's own channel runs through the university's procurement booking link rather than a number handed out to travellers. If you are affiliated, that link is more reliable than typing the ID yourself.
The same ID is honoured at every Choice brand, Comfort Inn and Quality Inn included — that brand coverage is documented on our Comfort Inn & Quality Inn page, while the full group list stays on this one.

Where the Choice university codes went — and what 715180 turned out to be
Ten of the thirty-five numbers on this page appeared in none of the five listings we read on 7 October 2026. Every one of the ten belongs to a university: Cornell University (74680), Michigan State University (226370), UC Davis (86000), UC San Diego (22580), University of California San Francisco (715180), University of Central Florida (87783), University of Utah (68868), University of Wisconsin Madison (904970) and Florida Atlantic University (803290) — plus Florida International University’s 803291, already flagged above against LFIU. Our earlier notes did not record where they came from, and that was a fair criticism of our own record-keeping.
We can now say where they came from, and it is not the answer anyone wanted. On 31 October 2026 a listing we had not read before — tikotravel.com, a travel blog published in July 2023 and last modified in January 2026 — turned out to carry all ten, in one block, with the same company names. It is the only live listing we can find that still publishes them: the fullest listing dropped them, on the stated grounds that several codes in its earlier versions could not be checked against the schools’ own travel or HR pages and that printing a code which may not work — or may get flagged at check-in — creates problems for readers.
That is one listing, not two, so the ten stay in the check-first table. Finding a second place to read a number is not the same as finding a second place that confirms it. What we have is one aggregator that agrees with our own earlier notes — notes we cannot trace to a named source. Two entries in the same lineage are one source, however many pages they sit on. Until a second independent listing carries a number, it stays in the check-first table carrying its flag, and we are not going to move it up because the arithmetic looks better.
Take that advice. At Choice, the university layer is mostly not a number you type. Michigan’s rate runs through its alumni association; Harvard’s runs through its procurement booking link; and a good number of schools now push hotel booking through a travel platform that applies the negotiated rate on its own. If you are travelling for one of the ten schools named above, your school’s own travel channel is more reliable than any row in our table.
We are not deleting the ten. Deleting is how a site hides its own paper trail. They stay in the check-first table carrying their flag, and this section is the record of where they went and where they turned up. Treat them as stale until a school portal says otherwise.
One more thing the re-read exposed. A single listing — goingawesomeplaces.com — carries twenty-two of the thirty-five numbers on this page. The next fullest carries four (corporate-codes.com), then three (milepro), then one each (mybetterbenefits.org, abnsave.com). The Choice list has one real maintainer and four satellites. That is the structural reason this page is short, and the reason we will not pad it.
And one number on this page is not what we said it was. 715180 was filed here under University of California San Francisco. It is not. The State of New Jersey publishes it.
715180 — a Choice Hotels code with a New Jersey government source
The New Jersey Civil Service Commission runs a State Employee Discount Program, and its own travel page lists Choice Hotels among the participating hotel programmes. The entry reads, in full: “Choice Hotels — 1-877-424-6423 — up to 15% off. Special Rate / Corp ID #00715180”, printed on the state’s own discount-programme page, under the heading for travel and entertainment, alongside Red Roof Inn and Wyndham Vacation Rentals. The code is written there the way Choice writes them, padded to eight digits. Strip the leading zeros and it is 715180 — the same number we had filed under a university.
That is a stronger kind of source than anything else on this page. Our rule is that a code needs two independent listings before it can be called verified, and our own method page puts the organisation’s own document at the top of the list of things worth reading — higher than any aggregator table. A state government printing the code, the booking number and the discount percentage on its own programme page is that kind of document. It is not somebody’s summary of it; it is the counterparty that negotiated the rate.
So why is it still not in the verified table? Because our rule is two independent listings, and here we have exactly one — the government page itself. The only other listing that carries 715180 is the one that filed it under UCSF, and it is wrong about the owner: it is a travel blog whose Choice page was last modified in January 2026, and its own instructions say to look for “the negotiated rate your company has with Hilton” — on a page about Choice Hotels. A listing that names the wrong hotel group in its own booking instructions is not a second opinion on who owns a code. We have one source, so 715180 stays in the check-first table, flagged.
What this changes for a reader. If you are a New Jersey state employee looking for the Choice rate, the number to use is 715180, at up to 15% off, and the phone number on the state’s own page is 1-877-424-6423. If you are looking for a University of California San Francisco rate, we cannot give you one — the only listing that claimed one gave you the wrong number. Use the university’s own travel channel. And if a code on this page is attributed to a company you do not work for, treat that as a warning about the attribution, not just about the number: our own file had this one wrong for months.
One number, two owners. The same six digits are claimed by a state government and by a university, in listings that never reference each other. That is not unusual in this field — the same digits do travel between tables (see where the Choice listings disagree). What is unusual here is that the two versions disagree about which organisation the rate belongs to, and that the state is right: it holds the agreement with Choice, so it is the only one of the two that can print the code.
Restrictions (as the listings state them)
- Corporate rates are tied to an organization's negotiated agreement. You can use a code only if you have a genuine affiliation with that organization — employee, contractor travelling on its behalf, or, for university rates, faculty, staff or students covered by the agreement.
- Expect to be asked for proof at check-in: a company or university ID, a business card, or a corporate email address. Economy properties often never ask; the front desk always can.
- If eligibility can't be established, the hotel can reprice your stay at the best available public rate and strip the negotiated benefits. Using a code you're not entitled to is a gamble, not a strategy.
- Participation is uneven. Choice is heavily franchised, and many individually owned properties don't join corporate rate programs at all — a valid code can still return nothing at a given hotel or date.
- Most corporate rates are negotiated for business travel. Leisure use is a gray area, and some codes in circulation are property-specific (a single hotel or campus) rather than chain-wide.
- Corporate rates can usually be cancelled free up to 24 hours before arrival, local time, but confirm the specific rate rules shown with your booking.

How we checked the Choice codes
Choice publishes nothing itself, so every ID on this page was read out of public listings and then checked against the others. Five listings were used for the table: abnsave, milepro, goingawesomeplaces, corporate-codes.com and mybetterbenefits. Two more were read on 31 October 2026 and used for this page’s findings rather than for the table: tikotravel.com, which turned out to carry all ten university codes, and hotelcodeshub.com, which is where the second 58650 attribution comes from. And one source outside the listings gave us the hardest evidence on the page — the State of New Jersey’s own Civil Service Commission discount-programme page, which prints a Choice code on the government’s own letterhead.
One of the five table sources has since gone: milepro.com returned "Page not found" for its Choice page on 31 October 2026, so the three codes it contributed stay on the strength of the 7 October read and the page no longer carries it. Four other sources were read and dropped, and the reasons matter more than the count:
- hotelcorporatecodes.com — its Choice entries are the same six records, in the same order, as corporate-codes.com. A copy, not a second opinion.
- SilkBonnet — same failure in a different wrapper. Its four Choice entries (ABN 845160, Harvard 76514, Yale 318810 and the zero-padded 00845160) are a subset of corporate-codes.com’s six, in the same order. On 31 October 2026 its Choice URL stopped serving a listing at all and redirected to a bare landing page.
- hotel-corporate-code.com — its Comfort Inn page returns a 200 with "Brand Not Found" in the body. There is nothing behind it.
- Coupon and promo pages — seasonal offers and promotional rates, which are a different product from a negotiated corporate ID.
That leaves the rule you can see in the tables above: an ID reaches the verified table only when at least two independent listings agree on it. Three did: 845160 (ABN), carried by four listings; 76514 (Harvard University), carried by three; and 00194080 (my Better Benefits), carried by two.
Two numbers in this section were wrong until 1 November 2026, and both were ours. The table said 76514 was carried by four listings. On the roster this page actually counts — five listings — it is carried by three: goingawesomeplaces, milepro and corporate-codes.com. abnsave’s page prints only 845160, and mybetterbenefits prints only 00194080. The four was left over from the roster in use before 7 October 2026, when hotelcorporatecodes.com and tikotravel.com were still being counted and corporate-codes.com was not; we changed the roster that day and never recounted the column. The second error was 00194080 itself. It sat in the check-first table labelled as a single-listing ID, but the source-distribution table we published on 7 October already recorded it in two listings, goingawesomeplaces.com and mybetterbenefits.org. Two listings is the bar for the verified table, so it has moved up. The two listings disagree on the size of the discount — 10% on one, 20% on the other — and that disagreement is written up under where the Choice listings disagree. Everything else Choice circulates, roughly thirty IDs, is listed once, so it sits in the check-first table — and the ones we found on 31 October 2026 make that point sharper rather than softer. 715180 now has a government document behind it, and it is still in the check-first table, because a first-party document is one source and the rule is two. When we find the second listing, it moves up; until then it does not.
What counts as an independent source, and why a copied list is not one, is set out on how we verify a code.

Where the Choice listings disagree
Choice is where the copy problem shows up most plainly, because the same eight-digit number gets filed under different owners on different sites.
- Florida International University — one listing prints the ID as LFIU, another as 803291. Neither is confirmed, and the two are not the same kind of thing at all: one is a short alphabetic label, the other a six-digit number.
- Century 21 — 75602 appears as "Century 21" and 803277 as "Century 21 Business". The same number 803277 is filed elsewhere as a Wyndham code for "Century 21 System", which is a neat illustration of a number travelling between tables without its context.
- Leading zeros — Harvard appears as both 00076514 and 76514, ABN as both 00845160 and 845160. These are the same code; listings pad to a fixed width and the padding is not consistent between them.
- One number, two owners — 715180 is filed under University of California San Francisco by one listing and printed as the State of New Jersey’s own Choice Hotels rate by the state’s Civil Service Commission. The state holds the agreement with Choice, so the state is the one that can print it. We had this one on the wrong line of our own table, and we are saying so on the 715180 write-up rather than quietly correcting it.
- One number, two companies — and the government one is right — 58650 is filed as Siemens by corporate-codes.com and as FFEIE (Financial Industry) by hotelcodeshub. Neither of those two is an official source, so the attribution stays unresolved and the code stays in the check-first table. It is worth noticing that the same number, in a different column, carries a state government behind it: 715180. A code that a government publishes has a named owner; a code that only aggregators publish has a guess attached to it.
- Discount figures — where a listing states a saving it often disagrees with the next one: Harvard's rate is given as 20%–25% and my Better Benefits as 10%–20%. Both are kept as the listings give them rather than averaged — the Comfort Inn page carries a discount column and prints them side by side — because we have no way to tell which is current.
None of this makes the IDs useless. It does mean the confirmation count on a Choice ID is worth more than the discount figure attached to it.

"Master chain code" — what that search is actually asking for
Searches for master chain code for choice hotels keep reaching this page, so the phrase deserves a plain answer. A chain code is a short identifier a hotel chain carries inside the global distribution systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport) that travel agents and booking platforms use when they request availability. It answers "whose hotels am I asking about". It is not a discount, it is not typed into a booking form by travellers, and it is not what this page lists.
- Chain code (short code in the GDS): used by travel professionals and OTAs to pull a chain's availability. Invisible on consumer booking pages.
- Special Rate ID (six to eight digits): what this page lists. Tied to one organization's negotiated agreement, typed into the Special Rate dropdown on choicehotels.com.
- Promo code: a public campaign offer. Different box, different issuer, and not published here for the reasons set out on our how we verify a code page.
So if you are a travel professional looking for Choice's GDS chain code, this is not the page that publishes it, and a number copied out of a consumer code list will not substitute for it. If you are a traveller who typed the phrase by accident, what you were probably looking for is the ID tables at the top of this page — and if your employer holds a Choice agreement, the number already on your travel profile is the right one.
